Invasion of the Podcast!

This week Marvel lets you make comics with some very specific guidelines, Gillian Anderson says that season 11 of X-Files will be her last, we talk sports (briefly, and not what you think), we welcome friend of the show, Jeff, back on as we dig into the divisive nature of Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi and talk about what fans want versus what they get, and we make some predictions about 2018.

This week we break away from the usual format to do a wrap up show for Invasion's Year Of The Western (Actually it was just under 3 months, but don't tell anyone). Friend of the show, Kevin from the Strange Highways Podcast, comes on to discuss the list of westerns he suggested at the start of 2017 for Paul to watch and how they can vary in tone, quality, and direction. So put on your 10 gallon hat and take a ride into a genre that's a lot more flexible than you might think.  

This week we talk about putting the R in Star Trek, the WB walking back their DC Cinematic Universe talk, the Ready Player One trailer and how it makes Paul's soul bleed,(news runs till about 1 hour in... we love our news!) we then look forward to Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi and our new hopes for it while reflecting on how we feel about The Force Awakens two years later, and then Steve challenges Paul to some very trivial trivia about Star Wars. 

This week Steve talks about his goings on at the Gengis Con while Paul went through a gambit of weird movies over the holiday weekend, the Infinity War trailer dropped and it makes us want more, MST3K gets a second sason on Netflix, Steve's favorite Christmas film is coming back to theaters soon, we compare and contrast DC's Justice League film to its animated counter part (starts at the 40 minute mark and ends at 1:30, we had a lot to say), and we play a Black Friday edition of Best Gift, Worst Gift, Re-Gift. 

This week the masked man of mystery, El Goro from the Talk Without Rhythm Podcast, drops in from the top rope to be our guest as we talk about Amazon announcing a Lord Of The Rings TV series, Star Wars blurting out about yet another trilogy of films before the current trilogy is finished, if and when to separate art from the artist in a time when it is getting harder to do so, a dicussion about fandom, appreciation, and how easy it is to love something so much that you can ruin it for others (trust me, the Feature Presentation segment is great but hard to describe in so few words), and to celebrate Thanksgiving, I ask El Goro some trivia questions involving planes, trains, and automobiles. 

This week we talk about one of the biggest Marvel writers signing with DC, Disney thinking about buying Fox, and Disney trying to punish a news outlet for doing their job (basically we are just conflicted about Disney), we give a mini review of Thor: Ragnarok, we talk about Stranger Things 2 and whether it was a 10 or 11, and we find out if Steve can correctly identify real fake monsters.    

This week the new Predator film gets a motion poster (aka video), Rob Zombie can't leave well enough alone, pirates are killing Ash, and guest James doesn't get his head snipped off while helping finish our look at underated horror sequels with The Exorcist III: Legion, and we have a monster mash bash to determine who the top monster is.

This week Star Wars picks the most obvious name for their new film, Neilsen thinks they know Netflix's streaming numbers but not really, the writer of Se7en has been tapped for the remake of Lone Wolf and Cub, we continue our spoOOooOoOoky October of underated horror sequels with specical guest Kevin of the Strange Highways podcast as we dig into the very, very, different Halloween III: The Season of the Witch, and we attempt to make some unconventional sequals to some romantic comedies. 

This week we talk about the new Star Porgs trailer, Blade Runner 2049 not performing as well as people hoped, the Halloween sequel ignorning the rest of the sequels, Steve King stops by with some really good tasting chili as we continue our look at underated horror sequels with the truly bizarre Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, and we round things out with a game of 'Would Your Rather?'

This week the Belcher family is going to Hollywood, Valve dumps a lot of shovelware, Stranger Things gets a surprise free (and suprisingly good looking) mobile game, we kick off our spooky month of underated horror sequels by looking at 1988's Return of the Living Dead Part II, and we try and find out what will be the hot new candy this Halloween.
