This week on Invasion of the Podcast we talk about our weekend playdate (00:00-39:30), Star Trek is at a crossroads with their streaming offerings and theatrical output, there sure are a lot of Ghostfaces running around right now, we learn which words have been officially added to the dictionary (39:30-1:33) we talk about 2013's Pacific Rim and if going too big is a problem (1:33-2:55), and Paul has Steve guess which Jaeger names are Real or Fake.™ (2:55-3:08).

Ep. 354 - Douche Canoe vs Superman!

This week on Invasion of the Podcast, Steve talks about his travels out to Vegas and Paul talks about his travels to his living room (:00-1:20), Warners wants to make many more Lord of the Rings movies, AI generated images and stories are gunking up the works, someone paid a lot of money for an old smartphone (1:20-2:03), we talk about the 30th anniversary of the Death of Superman event and how well it has aged and how it had an effect on the entire industry (2:03-3:40), and Paul makes Steve take a trio of Cosmo quizzes (3:40-4:23).

This week on Invasion of the Podcast, we talk about The Last of Us and how it is working so far, someone paid a lot of money for Han Solo's blaster, Paul has a daughter he didn't know about, a cat shelter is letting you name a litterbox after your ex, we talk about 2022's Skinamarink (spoilers? conversation starts at 1:04, ends at 2:05), and Steven has Paul guess 80's action titles based upon Imdb.com keywords. 

Ep. 352 - Preferred Sleep Cheese!

This week on Invasion of the Podcast we are joined once again by the mighty El Goro of the Talk Without Rhythm Podcast and talk about The Simpsons going (at least) 36 seasons, Disney folk sure are weird about what they collect, would you eat cheese at night for $1,000.00? and we kick of a new monthly segment on the show in which we talk about comics and we start with the 90's craze of intercompany crossovers with 1997's Hulk vs Pitt (starts at 1:27 the 3:00), and El Goro and Steve fight it out in a battle of the mascots.  

Ep. 351 - The Year of Carpenter: Body Bags (1993)!

This week on Invasion of the Podcast, we kick off Year 2 of our Year of Carpenter (one of us didn't really think this one out) with our friends Sammaeal and Nathaniel from At the Devil's Ball to talk about the made for cable anthology film, Body Bags. After the frustrations of making his last film, can Carpenter find some joy in getting back to gore and scares? 

Ep. 350 - Law and Odors!

This week on Invasion of the Podcast, HBOmax is now asking for more money after taking away content, John Carpenter has a few choice words about Chevy Chase, Canadian 911 calls are no joke, to celebrate Friday the 13th on Friday the 13th, we talk about Part VI: Jason Lives and how it is the bridge between two eras of the franchise, and Steve challenges Paul to be a mid 90's wizard of comics. 

Ep. 349 - The Butter Must Flow!

This week on Invasion of the Podcast, we catch up about our holiday break, Them is getting a re-make, how close should you stick to the source material when changing mediums, some firefighters had a very buttery night, we talk about Clerks III (heavy spoilers, 1:25-2:46) and are thankful Kevin Smith still has something to say and can still make us laugh, and Paul recounts Steve with a tale of wonder and magic. 

Ep. 348 - Five Idiots and a Jagoff!

This week on Invasion of the Podcast we are wrapping up 2022 by taking a look back on it. We are joined by special guests Sammaeal and Nathaniel of At The Devil's Ball, Terry of Strange Highways, and El Goro of Talk Without Rhythm and discuss the end of Marvel's Phase 4, the remains of the Snyderverse, Star Wars and Star Trek branching out in different directions, the most recent batch of legacy/reboot horror films and how we feel about current the state of the genre, and discuss our favorite first time watches during the year and our favorite 2022 films.

This week on Invasion of the Podcast, Henry Cavill is Superman no more, Greg Capullo is coming back to Marvel, we talk about one of the saddest stories of 2022, we discuss 1974's Black Christmas and how it was one of the first slasher films and how some of its ideas and themes still resonate today, and Steve gives Paul a test to determine if he has been Naughty or Nice.  

Ep. 346 - Better Off Late Than Never!

This week on Invasion of the Podcast Steve recounts his time at GalaxyCon Columbus, we briefly talk about Star Wars: Andor (very minor spoilers: starts at 42:00 ends at 54:30), The DCU is getting some major changes, another person is attempting to conquer The Dark Tower, a very odd theft occurred in Germany, we take a look at 1985's Better Off Dead and talk about absurdist comedy and how it is very foundational to our own tastes, and we play a game of Real or Fake involving movie/food tie-ins.
